Five Days of Photos: Ireland 2009

Mr. Goddess and I are back from a rather spontaneous five-day vacation to Ireland with the lovely Swartzes and the lovely Keilys and it was all quite lovely.

Sally Sparrow from Dr. Who is all-grown up! You do feel as if you are watching a star in the making in Carey Mulligan.

Funny in bits (best bit: Bill Nighy dancing) but not funny as a whole. A bit episodic, with a ridiculous ending.

A Serious Man

The Coen brothers have made another divisive film: I really like it; Mr. Goddess hated it. I thought it was deeply funny and deeply ... deep.

Capitalism: A Love Story
The Little 10.05.09
Unlike other Michael Moore docs, this was more of a piece of investigative journalism than a political screed. Moore shines his light on for-profit prisons, the appallingly low salaries of airline pilots, and the "dead peasant" insurance policies companies take out on their own employees -- all in the name of making a profit out of anything.
